How do I change and manage my website?
Your website is controlled by an administration area, (this can also be termed a ‘CMS’ or ‘Back Office’). The administration area can be accessed by typing in http://www.your URL/admin. Here you will be asked to enter your password and username, which should have already been issued to you.
Details on how to use the functions and features of the administration area can be found in the Linesave user manual.
At different points throughout your administration area, you will come across an easy to use editor facility; this is termed a WYSIWYG Editor.
We have 2 different variants of WYSIWYG editor’s in use, details are shown below:
FCK Editor – This is a very robust and reliable editor facility. Further information, and a guide of it’s use can be found here.
TinyMCE Editor – The TinyMCE Editor contains more tools and functionality than our other variant, further details and a user guide can be found here.
How do I setup my email?
When your website is finalised, we will setup any email addresses you require for your domain. The username and password for your requested email addresses’ will be sent to you by your designer. For full details on how to setup your email access please click below to download the email setup guide.
Keywords
When adding new content to your website or maintaining it, it is wise to consider the use of keywords in naming your pages, categories or products.
To help formulate effective keywords, click here for a keyword tool (provided by Google). This tool will provide approximate values of traffic, through Google, for specific keywords, and provide related alternatives.
An important factor you must take into account when choosing you keywords is your competition. If your site is new, we recommend you pick less competitive keywords, (keywords with less than 600,000 matching results in Google as a general rule of thumb). Choosing regional versions are a good way of getting fast, relevant traffic to your site.
After time, you will be able to use more competitive keywords, especially if you begin one of our external optimisation campaigns.
Live Training
We provide live training to all our customers for free in the first 12 months, training is usually conducted over the phone and a training session can last 30-60 minutes. Training sessions will be customised and will cover any points you require.
If you would like to book a training session, or want to know more about our external optimisation campaigns. Please call 01743 244366 and ask to speak to one of our Training and SEO Specialists.
